Census at School
About Census at School
Census @ School is a free program for schools introducing the census to students from grade 4 to 12. The students complete an anonymous, online questionnaire about their lifestyle, then analyze and interpret this data and compare the class results with authentic sample data from across Canada and internationally if appropriate.
I can help teachers who need support with the program by coming into the class to do two lesson/workshops. These lessons can take place on the same day or, if there are enough classes who want this, I can come back for an additional morning or afternoon. I will request a teacher account for you with Statistics Canada. You will get a password e-mailed directly to you. Again, there is no charge to the school or teacher for this service.
For returning Census at School teachers and students who are interested in a longitudinal-type study, book one time early in the year and I'll take you through the measurement and recording, then book a second time late in the year where I'll come and help you do a follow-up. Remember, you'll need to have your students take a second set of measurements just before the second session with me so we can analyze the changes in your students. Please mention this in your email when booking.
