What to Prepare

It's best if your students:

  1. each have a computer connected to the Internet for Part A and at least have a computer shared with a partner for Part B
  2. know the difference between cm and mm for the measurement section.
  3. can access a shared folder on a school server (or log into a service like TeacherWeb or D2L)

You need to:

  1. create your teacher account at the Census at School Teacher Account page Account creation page in new window. (You will get the password e-mailed to you. Print the message.)
  2. review the questions with the students (questions available on the Census at School Survey Question page Survey questions for teacher review - opens in new window).
  3. arrange for computers for the students for the time I am in your school.
  4. arrange for a LCD projector or a Smart Board for me to use. (If a projector isn't available, I will bring one if I know ahead of time.)
  5. have a way to share a file with your students. A common shared folder on a computer is ideal but D2L in CBE or TeacherWeb if you are in CSSD or FSD works just as well.

I will bring some measuring tapes - if you have some extra, that will be great.
